HarvestLock

Commit before harvest.
Settle on delivery — not on anyone's word.

HarvestLock lets an agricultural cooperative and a buyer agree a price before the season starts, then holds the buyer's money in a neutral escrow contract until an independent warehouse confirms the harvest actually arrived. Neither side can move the money alone.

How it works

Four steps, one contract per deal

No jargon required — this is the whole idea, in plain terms.

  1. 01

    Agree the deal

A cooperative and a buyer agree a price and quantity before harvest. Nothing has moved yet.

  2. 02

    Lock the funds

The buyer's deposit moves into escrow — a contract that belongs to neither party.

  3. 03

    Advance the cooperative

Capped pre-harvest payments release to the cooperative in tranches, so farmers aren't waiting on delivery to get paid at all.

  4. 04

    Deliver & settle

An independent warehouse operator confirms the harvest arrived. Only then does the remaining balance pay out.

Who's who

Two parties, one shared contract

Every commitment has exactly one cooperative and one buyer on opposite sides of the same escrow.

Seller side

The Cooperative

Represents the farmers actually growing the crop. Agrees the price, commits to delivering the harvest, and receives advance payments before delivery to help fund the season.

Gets paid in tranches — some upfront, the rest once the warehouse confirms delivery.

Buyer side

The Buyer

Commits to purchase the harvest at an agreed price. Funds the escrow upfront, locking in supply and price before the season's uncertainty plays out.

Gets the crop at delivery — and gets a shortfall refund automatically if less arrives than agreed.

A third, independent party — the warehouse operator — grades and confirms the actual delivery. Neither the cooperative nor the buyer can trigger settlement on their own say-so.
